SACRAMENTO, CA | FEBRUARY 14, 2023

Looking for some munchies on the way to Tahoe? Here are the best food stops in Sacramento to satisfy your cravings!

Most people pass through Sacramento on the way to Tahoe, but little do people know the city has so much to offer! Just 90 miles north of San Francisco, Sacramento is the capital of California, home of the Sacramento Kings, backdrop for the movie Lady Bird, and the Farm-to-Fork Capital of America. Here are some of our favorite eateries off I-80:

1. Tasty Dumpling

[Quick Bites] This is one of our favorite dumpling places in all of Northern California. Go for the xi’an cold noodles, pork xiao long baos, and beef rolls.

2. Oscar’s Very Mexican Food

[Quick Bites] Simple Mexican local gem. The quality is always so good, and the California burrito is a fan favorite.

3. Corti Brothers

[Quick Bites] It's a homegrown Italian food market that has a little bit of everything. Most people come here for the awesome sandwiches.

4. Masullo Pizza

[Sit Down Restaurant] Masullo’s is a nice family-owned Italian restaurant that serves wood-fired pizza. Their rosemary bread alone is to die for.

5. Jade Fountain

[Sit Down Restaurant] No frills Cantonese food restaurant with large portions for the price. We love the beef chow fun, peking spareribs, and porridge.

6. Kru

[Sit Down Restaurant] Contemporary Japanese restaurant with a great ambiance, and fresh and high quality sushi. If you’re looking to dine here, make sure to snag a reservation early.

7. Paragary's Midtown

[Sit Down Restaurant] This American restaurant has a modern vibe with a southern cozy feel. It also has a nice outdoor patio, which is perfect for brunch.

8. Mahoroba Japanese Bakery

[Pastries] They have amazing sweet and savory Japanese pastries. They’re known for their Kobe Cream Delight, which has homemade custard cream inside.

9. Gunther’s Quality Ice Cream

[Dessert] Gunther’s is a must if you’re craving something sweet. They have a wide selection of delicious ice cream, but our go-to is the fruit freeze. The lines can be long, but definitely worth the wait.

10. Rick’s Dessert Diner

[Dessert] The diner has ‘50s era charm that serves nothing but desserts - cakes, pies, crème brûlée, cookies, ice cream from Gunther’s, and so much more.

11. Temple Coffee Roasters

[Coffee] With several locations all over the area, Temple has some of the best coffee in Sacramento. This midtown location is super cute and shares a patio with a wine bar.

12. Dutch Bros

[Coffee] Last but not least is Dutch Bros Coffee. We always stop here (or at one of their many other locations in Sacramento) because there aren’t any in the Bay Area! The staff are very friendly and their coffee freezes always hit the spot.
